I know you must be wondering why most times you commit the same sin and consistently find yourself doing the wrong things when you had found Christ and accepted him as your lord and saviour.
This is because most times we look to ourselves and to our own works.
As followers of Christ we must remember that we are not justified by what we do or what we can achieve in our own strength but rather we can only be justified through and in the person of the lord Jesus Christ.
Remember those days when you would find yourself doing all the right things but yet during odd times you get the urge to sin ?
That’s because most times your attention is mostly on yourself and not on Christ.
Now you may ask ,”then why do I get the desire to commune with God in prayer and through the ministration of his word but yet get that urge to sin or better still sin”?.
That’s because once you had accepted Christ,a new life is birth in you and the ability to pray and read the word becomes that evident.
Now that doesn’t mean that you wouldn’t sin at the early stages of your walk with Christ,it just simply means that you are a babe and there is still some work to be done in you by the Holy Ghost.
So what happens when you find yourself committing a sin, you remind yourself of Christ and you remind yourself of his righteousness.you don’t go condemning yourself, instead what you do is you ask God to take away that sin and you wait until he takes it away. how do you wait ? you do so in prayer and by keeping your mind and eyes on Jesus.
Remember a previous post I put up a few years ago explaining that we become what we keep or look at for so long.imagined brethren you totally looking to the cross and seeing the finished work of the cross and keeping your eyes on the victorious Christ, how would you be easily swayed to commit sin? Trust me you wouldn’t be able to commit sin because when you steadily and daily , keep your eyes and mind to the cross Of Jesus Christ ,you would instead , begin to conform to the image of the lord Jesus Christ.
The bible says in 2 Corinthians 2:15 KJV “For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:”
that means we are only seen as righteous by God in the person of the lord Jesus Christ.
The bible says in Isaiah 64:6 KJV “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;a”
This means you can never be righteous or holy without Jesus and that’s because in him there is no sin. 1 John 3:5 KJV “And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.”
SO WE MUST REMEMBER THAT ONLY WHEN WE LOOK TO JESUS CHRIST OR BE IN CHRIST ARE WE ABLE TO EXUDE RIGHTEOUSNESS.
So I will like to encourage you who has just accepted the lord Jesus Christ as their lord and saviour to remember that once you repent, a new life is born in you and once you begin to walk in Christ and to know that only through the help of Jesus Christ will you be able to exude a holy life in this world, will you then begin to live as him in this world….
These brought such a light to my mind and honestly I am so blessed knowing that no sin can stop me from walking or being in Christ…
Yes I might sin once in a while but that doesn’t mean I am a sinner or I am unworthy before God.However because I know that I am in Christ and I am perfect as he is,and holy as he is that alone is my righteousness.
So brethren don’t condemn yourselves and don’t be so easily swayed by the things and pleasures of this world but rather always remember to look to the cross and to stay in the Lord Jesus Christ.
I AM HOLY AS HE IS HOLY,I am pure as he is pure,I am righteous as he is Righteous…All that Jesus is ,is what I am in this world.
